Big news! It’s not very often I get the opportunity to work on a personal project, so as you can imagine Michael and I are very excited about our new home renovation here in Houston! We’ve been sharing a few updates over the past month, but we’ve been keeping something a big secret until today … The team has partnered with Luxe Interiors + Design – and some pretty incredible partners – to proudly present the Boulevard Show House!

We have had such a great response to all of the posts about our home that we thought it would be SO FUN for you to see it – in person – when it’s finished. Hence, the Show House idea! Plus, we work alongside great vendors every day for our clients’ homes so, now that we’re the client, we can show off their amazing work to everyone. And the best part? We’re documenting our whole process, sharing behind the scenes as we go, and opening up our home for you to TOUR early next Spring!

Boulevard Show House

Our new-to-us home is a 1925 Tudor Revival on the iconic North Boulevard in the historic district of the Boulevard Oaks neighborhood. I have been eyeing this street since we moved to Houston in 2001. It was love at first sight. The house… not love at first sight but it will be amazing when it’s finished! For the design, it’s important that we stay true to the home’s historic style, so we’ve partnered with Preservation Houston to ensure we implement historically-accurate updates to the outside of the home. All ticket sales from our Boulevard Show House tour will benefit Preservation Houston to further the important work they are doing in our city.

Build Partners

And since we’re putting ourselves through our own client process (I must say… it’s very good :)), Michael and I have sought out four talented Build Partners & four trusted Brand Partners to help us truly transform our dream home. We’re so proud to be working with our Build Partners – Newberry Architecture, Blue River Custom Builders, Moss Landscaping, and Symbio Audio Video – and our Brand Partners – Monogram Appliances, Kohler, Marvin, and Schenck and Company. Our Partners – all of whom are involved in the project from start to finish – will work alongside other key sponsors, both national and local, to create a stunning and imaginative home representing the newest in architecture, interiors, landscape, building technologies, and audio-video innovations. It really does take a village, y’all – especially since this what the house looked like before demo started:

Whew – now this is a fabulous house that needs a designer touch!

Design Team

I’m thrilled that our fabulous design team will be helping me transforming our house from the inside out, too! With a project this large, there’s no way I would want to take it on solo. The team here is uber-talented and together, we transform our clients’ homes on the reg. Imagine what we are going to do with my own home! We had a chance to walk through the house together and discuss what each designer had in mind for their space. If you haven’t watched our walk-through video yet, you won’t want to miss it!
