Thanksgiving is TOMORROW, and I’m so looking forward to it. It doesn’t get better than a day (or two) full of food, friends, family, and, as an extra bonus, fabulous tablescapes!

To be completely transparent, although I LOVE seeing those Insta-worthy table settings, I usually keep it pretty low-key with the tableware on Thanksgiving… I pour creativity into my client’s designs during the week, and once the holidays come around, I just like to enjoy family time with Michael, our two girls (Liv and Ryan) and extended family. Thanksgiving in the Umansky household usually consists of waking up to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, cooking with family, quickly enjoying a meal chock full of carbs, and then cheering on our favorite football team (Hook ‘Em!) while slipping into a food-coma.

No matter how you like to celebrate – whether that means breaking out the fine china, keeping it laid-back with recyclable paper plates, or something in between – these inspiring tablescapes by some wonderful designers will trigger your festive side and get you in the mood for Thanksgiving!

Homed It

Casual, Cozy and Classic

It all started with searching for some simple and charming table settings that I could quickly pull together to freshen up my dining room before Thursday. Instantly, I found some great tips and tricks that would look so cute at the dinner table.

This casually elegant layout by 100 Layer Cake caught my eye because of its great blend of rustic refinement. The distressed wood furnishing paired with the natural botanical centerpieces makes for a sweet, country feel, and the candle holders and all-white table setting adds just the right touch of polished style.

The tablescape by Flamingo Toes just looks warm and cozy, doesn’t it? What I particularly love about this style is the plaid wrap-turned-tablecloth that effortlessly drapes the table. What a great idea – swoon!

Gourds – not just for Halloween!

At this point in my search, I lost track of time during my Pinterest frenzy, accepted the rabbit hole I fell into and continued admiring all the fall-inspired creativity.

I regret nothing; Check out these fun and unique techniques you can use to create a tablescape with multicolored gourds!

I always love bringing out my pumpkins and gourds to decorate for the fall, but this Casa de Perrin design takes it to a whole different level!  The arrangement of the painted, mini pumpkins was a real commitment to the season. Super impressive. Go for it with your color scheme if you decide to break out the paint: think metallics, neutrals, etc… You never know what you might come up with!

In the image above, Lovely Clusters incorporated a variety of soft wintery hues. The different color tones, combined with the wooden branches, offer a warm, earthy tone, while the white table runner, napkins and plates keep it simple and crisp.

This unique technique by Ella Claire makes use of a classic, wooden charcuterie board for the foundation of her centerpiece. Pop some white pumpkins on top and voila – Thanksgiving chic! The cranberries add a touch of color and texture.

All White

Speaking of white pumpkins, I also found some gorgeous, all-white techniques, too! There’s just something untouchable about a candlelit dinner with a white table design.

The best part? Anyone can pull this off!

At a glance, this design by Vintage Pretty Pearl looks uber fancy, but if you break it down, it’s totally doable! It starts with a burlap table runner, white hydrangea, candleholders and pumpkins, all of which you can grab at your neighborhood garden shop with a quick swing by Pier 1 (gasp … but admit it … they have great pieces for the holidays!).

Similar to the last example, this layout might seem challenging, but the Ruffled Blog provides step-by-step guidelines to achieve this look. The main components include a whitewashed plank with a bouquet of paperwhite flowers (among my faves!), balsam and privet berries.

As I’ve mentioned in past blogs, details play such an important role in interior design! The makeshift napkin ring with a short stick of cinnamon adds the cutest bit of thoughtfulness.

So no matter how you like to celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope the tablescapes that inspired me have given you a little direction for your own table.
