Whether it’s a master suite or a guest room, the bedroom is one of the most important spaces in your home. It’s where you enjoy time with your family on lazy Sunday mornings and where you recall the day with your spouse before bed. And of course, it’s where you sleep! Since you spend one-third of your life sleeping, you want to have a bed that allows you to honor that time.
I can’t express how much I enjoy home renovations! I always find it exciting to restore the original beauty of a home. Renovation projects also align perfectly with my Classically Current design philosophy. My goal for every interior is to create beautiful and enduring spaces enjoyed for generations to come.
“What is your design style?”
It’s a question I get asked all the time, especially when I’m meeting with clients for the first time. And it’s one of the most important questions to ask when you begin working with an interior designer. After all, you are looking for someone to design your home, your sanctuary. A place to build a beautiful legacy for years and generations to come. It’s critical that you and your designer are on the same page.
If you’re starting a new design project, choosing a color scheme for your home may seem like it’s the first thing you need to do. Your home, after all, will be your sanctuary, as well as a place to entertain family and friends. You want a space that reflects your personal style and interests. So, you start flipping through magazines, reading design blogs, and to find the perfect residential color scheme.
No matter what the style or design of your home is, there will be some spaces that are more casual than others. For example, the kitchen and game room are rooms you use every day, where you go to relax and hang out. A sitting room or a dining room, on the other hand, are often more formal rooms. They’re designed to be sophisticated spaces that embody luxury and they’re the perfect spot for celebrating special occasions and hosting guests.
While my expertise is mainly on the inside of a home, I also know the importance of a beautiful exterior! With spring on the horizon, I want to let everyone know that now is the time to start thinking about your lawns and gardens. I know, I know. It’s still very wintry here in Houston. But the warmth of March will (hopefully!) be here before you know it. I am reviving this informative Q and A with Moss Landscaping, the experts who transformed the exteriors of my own home. Enjoy!
Gone are the days of gas stove tops and ovens and fridges with basic functions. Whether it’s in your car, on your wrist or in your home, technology is everywhere these days helping to make your life easier and more manageable. And your kitchen is no exception.
How is it already halfway through February?! April will be here before we know it which is so exciting and…a little scary. There is still quite a bit to get done on the BLVD Show House, but we have been progressing much quicker since the new year started. We recently installed the sheetrock which was a huge step! Next up, is the installation of the flooring and tile, nailing down all fabrics, furnishings and getting everything ordered. It’s definitely been a super busy process among all other things, but I’m loving it!
Like many of our clients, I have little kiddos running around and understand the need for a balance between luxury and functionality when it comes to selecting flooring. But with so many choices, how do you know which one to use? It may seem like you have to choose between aesthetics and functionality, but the great news is that you don’t! Today, I’m breaking down how to select functional and beautiful flooring for any space.
Renovating a historic home is quite the process! The sheetrock is in which means we’re one step closer to installing our gorgeous finishes throughout the home, including our hardwood flooring. We’ve joined forces with the talented on the floors for the Boulevard Show House because they’re the most in-demand experts when it comes to creating custom fine hardwood floors.
