January has been super busy! Between catching up from the Holiday break (and the snow/ice days), project installations and working on some new collaborations, this month has just flown by. We’ve also discovered many new sources of inspiration this month. All the new collections at Dallas Market and the introduction of the new color of the year (hello, Ultra Violet!) are making our design hearts happy. We’re so excited to share some of the things we’ve been inspired by this month with you!
Mirrors are so much more than a reflective surface in which you check your appearance. While they are great for a quick glance at your lipstick on your way out the door or the application of a full face of makeup, they can also become a focal point of your room. They add depth and dimension and bounce around a room’s light like nobodies business. Added bonus: mirrors with fab frames add texture, detail, and color to a space too!
The word “home” has a million meanings. It may be your place for relaxing or entertaining. Maybe it is the concept of time spent with friends and family. No matter what comes to mind when you think of home, there’s one important thing that is a constant: YOU!
One of the things about being a designer is that I’m always rearranging, tweaking and changing up the look of a space…trying to find new ways to make the space feel more personal and lively. Though pillows, rugs or a new coat of paint can definitely change the vibe of the room, art can be even more impactful. Art plays a supporting role and a room isn’t complete without it.
Art can be transformative. As both art lovers and interior designers, the Ohorona24.in.ua team often encourages our clients to select art during their travels that remind them of their adventures abroad. Here’s a secret: one couple actually gives each other unique art pieces as gifts for birthdays and anniversaries. You can imagine over a marriage of 30 years what your house might come to look like or what artists you might discover!
As winter begins to drift away and the warmer weather begins to arrive, the Ohorona24.in.ua team has been busy looking over the latest collections from some of our favorite vendors and designers. With all this inspiration, we can’t help but get excited for what the spring/summer seasons have in store!
Check out our most recent obsessions that caught our eye this month.
With the holiday of love upon us, I can reflect on the two things I love most- my family and interior design! Throughout my career, I have studied and experimented with countless design tips and techniques; and have narrowed down my favorites that work best for me.
Let me start by saying there is no secret rule book designers use. We are all creative by nature and love to imagine, explore and follow our intuition by pushing the envelope at times. We do this because we all strive to create our own design style that sets us apart from the rest.
For instance, as most of you already know, I am not a big believer in designs based on “trends” of the season. Mostly because trends come and go at a rapid pace and your home style shouldn’t. Instead, I enjoy the challenge of taking classic pieces and mixing them with modern elements to transform them into one classically current design.

Our dear friend, Mary Hammon Lee, has shared with us her experience at the latest Frieze Art Fair in NYC where she saw some incredibly impactful contemporary art. Art is such an integral part of interior design and has been the source of a large amount of our design inspiration. Mary Hammon has picked out a few of her absolute favorites from the fair that outline the true talent and unique styles that each artist had to offer.
The Frieze Art Fair originated in London in October 2003, and compliments the Contemporary auctions that take place there every October. Frieze New York was launched in 2012, alongside the May New York Contemporary auctions.
Taking a ferry to the fair’s luxury tent on Randall’s Island is half the fun. The people watching is equally entertaining. But, best of all, the art!
I’ve outlined a few of my favorites below.
Last week was hectic and fantastic! We moved our Houston office (you may have seen a little bit about that on our blog ;)), then traveled to Aspen to prep for Food & Wine weekend. This is the first Food & Wine for us since we opened our Aspen office, and it delivered! The sunshine and perfect weather of Colorado didn’t fail us as we co-hosted our Food and Wine Kickoff party with at their gorgeous showroom.
We want to remind everyone that tomorrow night is the big FreshArts Gumball. So if you haven’t already done so you can get your tickets by clicking on the link below.
This year’s theme is candy-coated and dipped in chocolate! In true Fresh Arts’ fashion, it will be an all-out blow-out…complete with live entertainment, an art auction, off-the-wall costumes, drinks, dancing, delights, chocolate rivers, and Oompa Loompas!
