Over the past few weeks, I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Beacon Hill fabric to create striking showroom designs featuring Beacon Hill’s stunning new spring Animale Fabric collection. I loved that Beacon Hill sought out a local Houston interior designer (me!) to help debut the new collection. I was honored to be included and thrilled at the challenge of designing vignettes to showcase this fashion-forward collection.
Using the new line of fabrics and Robert Allen furniture pieces, I gathered inspiration from various natural elements to design several vignettes that blended with my Classically Current style. Today, I’m excited to show you the finished products!
Robert Allen Grace Banquette– Fabric: Abstract Fret Coral; Lumbar Pillow: Mysore Sike/Ashe with Velvet Cord
This coral reef hue by Sherwin Williams is quickly becoming a staple of mine and you may even recognize it in our Houston interior design studio! I love the way the white faux taxidermy breaks up the single-colored wall and blends with the animalist theme set by the gorgeous zebra-print fabric.

The water-themed Striatto fabric threads magenta strikes through deep blue tones. I had the fabric backed and used it as wallpaper so the pattern could be fully appreciated. Then, I pulled the magenta tone onto the accent pillow to create a subtle contrast cording.
For an extra touch of detail, I added some of my favorite classic novels that feature aquatic themes: The Old Man and the Sea, Moby Dick and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. We also brought in other novels but removed the covers to expose the white of the pages, referencing the white faux taxidermy throughout.
Beacon Hill Wallpaper: Striatto, Batik Blue; Jellyfish Fixture by Roxy Russell
Robert Allen Rita Side Chair upholstered with Beacon Hill Bronso Velvet, Neptune Fabric; Shark Teeth from Zara Home; Pillow upholstered with Zebrino, Sapphire and Prism Satin, Magenta Trim
For this vignette, the single faux elephant taxidermy was perfect for Beacon Hill’s Elephante fabric (here, I backed the fabric and used it as wallcovering). I love the soft, smoky gray tones in this scene!
Beacon Hill Wall Covering: Elephante, Smoke; Elephant from White Faux Taxidermy; Curtain Tie Backs from Anthropologie; Beacon Hill Drapery: Petit Croc, Platinum.; Trim: Leather Cord, Billiard Green
Robert Allen Jack Bench upholstered with Beacon Hill Fabric: Equus Gold, Alchemy Velvet Topaz
The new Plume Stitch fabric has a light, breezy feeling and inspired me to focus on feathers as the theme for this vignette. We sprinkled feathers throughout the showroom… because what doesn’t work well with feathers! Our faux taxidermy peacock and the envelope pillow trimmed in peacock feathers add whimsy to the space.

Envelope Pillow upholstered with Beacon Hill Fabric: Mysore Silk, Black Blue with Trim: Alchemy Peacock, Azurite
Continuing the nature theme, I played off of soft elements like air and wind in this space. The addition of butterfly accents on the wall and the feathers contained in the Lucite trunk enhance the playful attitude of the collection.

As if the opportunity to collaborate with Beacon Hill and Robert Allen wasn’t exciting enough, some of my favorite people and design partners joined me last week at the Decorative Center Houston to celebrate the unveiling of the collection.

Thank you to Beacon Hill, especially Catherine Bernal and Jana Weill, to the Beacon Hill creative team behind this gorgeous collection, and to everyone who visited the Beacon Hill showroom to celebrate the new vignettes with me. I had a blast designing the vignettes around this exciting new fabric collection. The new fabrics will be on display at the Decorative Center Houston until August and, if you haven’t yet had the chance, I hope you will stop by to check them out!
