As part of our classically current design philosophy, our team tends to shy away from building our designs around the hottest interior design and home decorating trends from year to year. This does not mean, however, that we don’t keep up with the trends.
In fact, on any given day, you will see and hear our team in the office pouring over the newest editions of design magazines, browsing Pinterest and obsessing over new ideas to incorporate into design projects for our clients. That is our secret to keeping our current!
Here are some of the design ideas the team of are buzzing about right:
Over Scaled Florals
“This is more of my ongoing obsession. With recent fabric collections manufacturers have released, the scale of the floral pattern has grown to massive proportions, which allows your “grandma’s florals” to gain a modern edge. “ – Blair, Associate Designer
Wall & Deco Outdoor Wallpaper
“Why should interior walls have all of the fun! Adding outdoor wallpaper to an accent wall (or two) is a fun and unconventional way to incorporate another layer of pizazz to any outdoor space.” – Meredith Sanders, Managing Principal Interiorer
“It has always been one of my favorite colors, and I love using it in a variety of color palettes. I love how it can be soft and romantic mixed with creams and neutrals, or sophisticated and glamorous mixed with gold, or take on an edgier yet refined look with black. I just visited the Rothko exhibit and my favorite work incorporated rose, “Red and Pink on Pink.” – Shannon Smith, Associate Interiorer
Maison & Objet Paris Lighting
“These light fixtures are futuristic, geometric and magical – your lighting becomes an art piece in the room. I have been lucky enough to attend a Maison & Objet show and look forward to their updates.” – Arlene Penrose, Senior Designer
Anything Rose Gold
“Rose Gold is such a fresh finish that makes a bold statement (in the right place of course). I would like to see a bar finished with an antique mirror backsplash and a rose gold faucet. Very luxe! “ – Letecia Ellis Haywood, Principal Designer
Gold and Navy/Tan Color Scheme
“I think navy and gold/tan is a fresh take on a classic color scheme. I love the contrast of the colors together and the combination is not as harsh as black and gold.“ – Shenay Keyes, Advanced Associate Designer
Painterly Prints Fabric
“These abstract paint fabric prints are turning pillows, drapery, etc. into works of art and the colour palettes in these prints are absolutely amazing.” – Collyn Clark, Associate Interiorer
