At the Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA) in Dania Beach, is the cinematic theme of the second annual DesignHouse – a showcase for the latest trends in interior design. This year, the theme is Hollywood Glamour. Titled “Film + Design: The Golden Age of Hollywood,” the DesignHouse is on view to the public from January 19th through July 15th. Here’s a virtual peek into this year’s house. Trends scene in the 18 spaces (including courtyard, balcony terrace and reception lobby) include: Saturated Color – black, reds, golds, pinks and lots of metallics; Over-sized Chandeliers – or even multiple chandeliers grouped in clusters; Global Touches – eclectic pieces from world travels (ethnic patterns, animal prints, natural materials); Traditional Furniture – classic silhouettes with a contemporary feel.
